Creating a safe site doesn’t start when boots hit the ground, it starts much earlier, with the decisions made about the equipment teams rely on every day. Health and safety incidents rarely stem from a single mistake, more often, they’re the result of choices made long before work begins. Selecting reliable, fit for purpose hire equipment is one of the most effective ways to reduce risk, support safe working practices, and give teams the confidence to work efficiently and safely.

In August, we welcomed three new graduates to the GAP Graduate Programme, Adam Rayer, Euan Reid and Adam Diab. Since joining, they’ve spent their first few months rotating through a variety of depots and divisions, working hands-on as Hire & Sales Coordinators (HSCs).

When considering on-site risk, the focus often falls on equipment in use. In reality, many safety incidents stem from equipment condition before it even reaches site. At GAP, safety is at the forefront of our Plant & Tool division, with rigorous servicing, inspection, and preparation processes designed to reduce risk from day one.

With 2025 coming to a close, we’re reflecting on another fantastic year for our GAP Giving initiative. As part of our ongoing commitment, we donate 0.5% of our profits to charities chosen by our GAP team, throughout the UK, helping to make a difference where it is most needed.
