The 5% Club
We are a member of the 5% Club, an industry-led campaign aimed at tackling youth unemployment, supported by the CBI (Confederation of British Industry) and the Government Department of Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS). As a member, we are comitted to having a minimum of 5% of our workforce enrolled on a formalised apprenticeship, sponsored student and/or graduate development scheme within five years.
Apprenticeship Awards
Your career with GAP doesn't end when your Apprenticeship ends. We offer a variety of progression plans so you can further your career with us. We now have a number of employees who started as an Apprentice and who are now working in Management Roles.
Our Apprentices also achieve greatness when working at GAP. In 2022, Lewis Barr, a Lifting Apprentice at our Kinning Park Depot, won the LEEA Outstanding Apprentice of the Year Award. Tyler Spendiff, working in our Newcastle Lifting Depot, also won the LEEA Rising Star Runner-Up of 2022 Award.

Learning & Development
We heavily invest in offering Apprenticeships as a way of getting young talented people into the business and training them up to being a successful career with us.
We offer a variety of different Apprenticeships which vary in duration depending on the role, however regardless of which division/role you are in there will be support and guidance from GAP's Learning and Development team and from our depots.
