Robotic total stations function similarly to traditional total stations but incorporate a system of motors and sensors that enable them to rotate automatically and ‘follow’ the engineer or surveyor performing the work. This simple yet effective concept allows for operation by a single individual, enabling the completion of more calculations and inspections in less time than with a conventional total station.
