A Strong Start: The Launch of GAP Pump Services
In August 2021, we launched the Pump Services Division, bringing Richard Broughton on board as Head of Pump Services. The UK market presented a significant opportunity, which GAP seized with a substantial £18 million investment in pumps and related ancillary equipment. Our fleet included drainage, sewage, and hydraulic pumps ranging from 2” to 12”, along with brand-new delivery vehicles dedicated solely to delivering pumping equipment. Initially operating from just three locations, our Pump Services Division quickly outgrew its original footprint.
Scaling New Heights: Investment and Expansion
The success of GAP Pump Services was evident early on, requiring further investment to meet growing
demand nationwide. To date, £82 million has been invested in pump products alone, excluding vehicles and premises. This rapid growth allowed us to better serve our customers, ensuring quicker response times and a more extensive range of available equipment, making us the go-to provider in the UK. From our humble beginnings with three locations, we have expanded to 14 depots strategically located throughout the UK, and our team has grown to over 100 dedicated staff members.
Innovating for the Future: Product Expansion and Innovation
Over the years, our Pumps Division has rapidly expanded its product offerings to meet the evolving needs of our customers. We now provide a complete range of sewage, drainage, and bentonite pumps, along with a full range of pumping accessories, including drip trays, fuel tanks, and Vetter stoppers. We also introduced the world’s first-ever Battery Powered Screw Sewage Pump. This cutting-edge product not only leads the market but also empowers our customers to meet their sustainability goals more effectively, reinforcing GAP’s commitment to a greener future.
Expanding Horizons: GAP Environmental Services and Power Generation
In addition to our Pump Services, we’ve expanded our offerings to include Environmental Services and Power Generation. Our Environmental Services include advanced solutions such automated chemical dosing units, lamella clarifiers and pH balancers, designed to address a variety of environmental challenges and support sustainable practices. This expansion reinforces our commitment to providing comprehensive, environmentally responsible solutions.
Our Power Generation solutions complements our Pump Services and Environmental Services Divisions by offering a range of high-performance Stage V generators and battery energy storage systems, that ensure reliable power solutions for diverse pumping and water applications. This addition allows us to provide a complete suite of services that meet the needs of our customers across various sectors, reinforcing our position as a true one-stop solution provider.
